Meet your Colleagues
The presentation is online and can last from half an hour to one hour, depending on the speakers’ decision, and is followed by a question and answer period of one hour or less. The speakers usually mention their place of birth, something about their family and the schools they attended. They speak of their background and education, explaining why they chose a particular career, and talk of their experience with students and colleagues. They also talk about their hobbies and their interests outside the academic world. Some people like to provide personal details about their family and their life, starting from their childhood and adolescence, others prefer to concentrate on their career and avoid too much personal information. Visuals are most welcome, but are not necessary.
In short the content of the presentation is left completely to the speakers’ decision.
